The Challenge: Dual-Mode Control Logic Setup
The DSEM640 was configured to be either in Excavator Mode or Drill Mode.
With a certain button press on the joystick, Excavator Mode is selected, which means none of the Drill actions may operate or if Drill Mode is selected, then none of the Excavator actions may operate.
The Solution & Outcome: Mobile Operation & Control
In Excavator Mode and by using the 2 levers that drives the tracks of the machine, the excavator is mobile, thereby being able to position the drill where required.
The controls allow you to operate the drill – That is turning the drill at the speed required, moving the drill head up and down and of course, loading new shafts for the drill.
After a couple of tough hours of programming and going back to the drawing board on the design, we finally came to a smooth working solution.
