Pressure Sensors (Senders & Switches)

A VDO oil pressure sender/switch, is a critical component that monitors the oil pressure within an engine’s lubrication system.
Its primary function is to ensure the engine receives adequate oil pressure for proper lubrication, and to initiate a shutdown, while alerting the operator if oil pressure drops below a safe threshold.
It does this by transmitting the parameter reading via an analogue/digital signal to the engines instrument panel (DSE control module) or the engine control unit (ECU).
It essentially converts the mechanical pressure of the oil into electrical signals that can be read and interpreted by the engine’s control systems.
